Before Carddass: 1996 Bandai Pokémon stickers now sell for ¥900,000 — Pokémon Club vs Pokémon Snackカードダスより前のポケモン。1996年のバンダイのシールが90万円に（ポケモンクラブとポケモンスナックの違い）
こんにちは、旧裏マークなしです。
「最古のポケモンカードは、カードダス（1996年9月）」。このサイトでも、そう書いてきました。
ところが、その前にもう1つありました。カードではなく、お菓子のおまけのシールです。
カードダスより4か月早い
1996年5月下旬、バンダイから「ポケモンクラブ」が出ています。ゲームボーイの形をしたプラスチックのケースに、塩ビの人形とシールとラムネが入って、100円（税別）。
続いて8月下旬に「ポケモンスナック」。スナック菓子に、シールが1枚おまけで付いてきました。こちらも100円です。
どちらも、カードダスより前です。発売の月は、当時のコロコロコミック（1996年6月号・9月号）を調べた市野ルギアさんの記事によります。
100円のお菓子のおまけです。子どもはシールをケースやノートに貼って、箱は捨てました。
そのシールが、いくらで落札されているか
ヤフオクで直近180日（2026年4〜10月）に「ポケモンスナック シール」で落札されたものは359件。高いものから並べると、こうです。

But there was something before it — not a card, but a sticker that came free with snacks.
Four months before Carddass
In late May 1996, Bandai released “Pokémon Club”: a Game Boy-shaped plastic case with a vinyl figure, a sticker and candy, for ¥100 (before tax).
In late August came “Pokémon Snack”: a bag of puff snacks with one sticker inside. Also ¥100.
Both came out before Carddass. The release months come from Ichino Lugia's research into CoroCoro Comic (June and September 1996 issues).
They were free extras with a ¥100 snack. Kids stuck the stickers on the case or in notebooks and threw the boxes away.
What those stickers sell for now
In the last 180 days (April–October 2026), 359 items sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan for “Pokémon Snack sticker”. The top ones:

1円から始まって、100件以上の入札がついたものもあります。値段を決めたのは出品者ではなく、競り合った人たちです。
2023年5月ごろは、1枚1万〜3万円台で落札されていました（ゆるトレカ部の集計）。3年で、桁が1つ変わっています。
海外でも動いています。2026年10月19日には、eBayでヒトカゲ・リザード・リザードンのスナックのシールが約58万円で売れました。メルカリでも、売り切れの上位は30万〜50万円です。
ややこしい。クラブとスナックの違い
この2つは、出品のタイトルではほぼ必ず混ざっています。上の落札も、タイトルに「クラブ」と「スナック」の両方が入っているものばかりです。検索に引っかかるように両方書くわけです。でも、中身は別の商品です。
Some started at ¥1 and drew over 100 bids — the buyers set these prices, not the sellers.
Around May 2023, single stickers were selling for ¥10,000–¥30,000-something (per a Yurutoreca round-up). In three years, prices gained a digit.
It's not just Japan: on October 19, 2026, a Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard Snack sticker sold on eBay for about ¥580,000 (≈$3,700). Mercari's top sold listings are ¥300,000–¥500,000.
Confusing: Club vs Snack
Listing titles almost always mix the two — nearly every sale above has both “Club” and “Snack” in the title, to catch both searches. But they are different products.
シールの作りは、どちらも同じです。上にゲームボーイの画面風の絵、下に図鑑の説明。「DOT MATRIX WITH STEREO SOUND」の文字まで同じです。
見分け方
- 2匹つながっていれば、スナック。クラブのシールは1匹ずつで、2匹つながったものはありません。
- キラ（ホログラム）なら、まずスナック。スナックにはキラが混ざっていました（10枚に1枚くらいだったという人もいます）。クラブのキラは、私は見つけられませんでした。
- ゲームボーイの枠ではない絵柄なら、スナックの後期。スナックには後から出た別のデザインがあります（カメックスの箱のころ）。背景が茶色や紫のものもあります。
- 背景の色を見る。手持ちのスナックは、ポケモンごとに背景の色が違います（ピンク・黄・水色・黄緑）。いっぽう、高額で落札された1匹だけのシール（リザードン・ニドラン♀・ピカチュウ・ゼニガメ）は、どれも下半分が同じ薄い緑でそろっていました。海外のコレクターのまとめでは、クラブの第1弾は「全部同じ色・同じデザイン」とされています。タイトルは「スナック」でも、クラブの第1弾の可能性が高いと私は見ています。
- 1匹だけのシールは、縁を見る。スナックの2匹を真ん中で切り離したものも多く出回っています。当時の子どもは、ハサミで切ってケースに貼っていました。四隅と四辺がそろって写った写真で確かめてください。
- ケースと人形が付いていても、決め手にはならない。クラブのケースに、スナックを切って貼った組み合わせもありえます。
正直に言うと、1匹だけのシールを「クラブ」と「切り離したスナック」に見分ける確かな方法は、コレクターの間でもまだはっきりしていません。海外のまとめでも「スナックは切り離されたものが多いので、半分に切られたカードと同じように考えて」と書かれています。
私はどうするか
私が探すなら、2つです。
- 切り離されていない、2匹つながったままのスナック。本物のスナックであることと、切られていないことが写真1枚で分かります。子どもがハサミを入れなかったものだけなので、思っているより少ないはずです。
- クラブの第1弾の、きれいな1匹シール。カードダスより4か月早い、ポケモンの最初のシールです。ケースに貼られたものが多く、貼られていないものは本当に少ないと思います。

Both use the same design: a Game Boy-screen picture on top and a Pokédex entry below, right down to the “DOT MATRIX WITH STEREO SOUND” line.
How to tell them apart
- Two Pokémon joined = Snack. Club stickers show one Pokémon; they never come in pairs.
- Holo = most likely Snack. Snack packs included holo stickers (some say about 1 in 10). I couldn't find a holo Club sticker.
- Not a Game Boy frame = later Snack. Snack had a later design (around the Blastoise box), some with brown or purple backgrounds.
- Look at the background color. My Snack stickers have a different color for each Pokémon (pink, yellow, blue, green). The single stickers that sold highest (Charizard, Nidoran♀, Pikachu, Squirtle) all share the same pale green lower half. Collectors abroad describe Club Part 1 as “all one color and design”. Even when the title says “Snack”, I think these are most likely Club Part 1.
- For single stickers, check the edges. Many Snack sheets were cut in half — kids cut them to fit the case. Insist on photos showing all four corners and edges.
- A case and figure don't prove it. A cut Snack sticker can end up stuck to a Club case.
Honestly, there is no settled way yet to tell a Club single from half of a cut Snack sheet. A collector guide abroad says to treat a cut Snack sticker like a TCG card cut in half.
What I would do
- Uncut Snack sheets with both Pokémon. One photo proves it's Snack and that it's uncut — and only sheets no child ever took scissors to survive like that.
- Clean Club Part 1 singles. The first Pokémon stickers, four months before Carddass. Most were stuck onto the case; unstuck ones should be genuinely scarce.
